That’s the number of Earth’s we would need if everyone lived like me.

It’s shocking, embarrassing and seems hopeless.

But the Earth is worth fighting for. So, here are 5 easy ways to reduce your ecological footprint:

1. Wash your clothes at 40°C instead of 60°C. This saves about 1.5kg of CO2 per wash according to zdfheute.

2. Air-dry your clothes. It doesn’t only save 1.8kg of CO2, it is also better for your clothes. Since the heat of your tumble drier burns the fabrics rubber and reduces its elasticity, making your clothes saggy.

3. Switch butter for margarine. One serve of the more environmentally friendly option can save 80 grams of CO2.

4. Get energy-saving light bulbs, they use 80-90% less energy than regular ones.

5. And last but not least, unplug electronic devices to save electricity you didn't even know you were using.

Click here to find out what your ecological footprint is, it takes less than 5 minutes.
